Debate on Freedom of Speech and Democracy

Members of the Youth Council of the City, Maja Kądziela, Maja Rafalska and Mateusz Jurasz, faced students from the II Secondary School in Konin in an Oxford-style debate on the motion: “Freedom of speech is becoming a destructive force for democracy.” The debate was moderated by Grzegorz Nawrocki, while invited journalists Eliza Michalik and Wojciech Szeląg took on the special role of fourth speakers. The event provided young people with an excellent opportunity to develop their skills in argumentation, rhetoric and public speaking. Participants described the debate as a highly valuable and inspiring experience, accompanied by a great atmosphere and the support of fellow Youth Council members in the audience.
