Consultation workshops as part of the work on the Environmental Education Program for the city of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski until 2030

On March 15–16, 2023, the cultural center in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski “Ostrowiecki Browar Kultury” hosted consultation workshops on the documents being developed as part of the Environmental Education Program for the city of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, i.e. a schedule of activities, lesson scenarios and a list of teaching aids. The workshops were attended by teachers from all kindergartens and elementary schools in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, as well as teachers from W. Broniewski Secondary School of General Education No. III (LO nr III im. W. Broniewskiego), M. Kopernik School Complex No. 1 (Zespół Szkół nr 1 im. M. Kopernika), S. Staszic Secondary School of General Education No. 1 (LO nr 1 im. S. Staszica) and the Sports Championship School Complex of General Education (Zespół Szkół Ogólnokształcących Mistrzostwa Sportowego). Representatives of municipal authorities and companies, as well as NGOs also participated in the workshops. 

The consultations were conducted in small groups, which provided an opportunity for each participant to present his or her opinion and had a very positive effect on the level of discussion. The workshops were conducted by employees of ATMOTERM S.A., a company commissioned by the Municipality to prepare the Program in question, and employees of the City Hall in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. A total of 63 people participated in the workshops.

We would like to thank all workshop participants for sharing their experience and substantive knowledge. Commitment, creative approach to the issues discussed and willingness to cooperate allowed to collect extensive substantive material, which will enable the preparation of a coherent and innovative Environmental Education Program for our city, including a schedule of activities and scenarios, no longer of lessons, as originally envisaged, but of school projects. 

The city's Environmental Education Program will be prepared by the end of June this year.
