Climate Change Mitigation – The Final Lecture of the Ostrowiec Climate Academy
On 11 May 2026, the sixth and final lecture of the Ostrowiec Climate Academy was held at the Ostrowiecki Browar Kultury, focusing on climate change mitigation and ways of limiting its impacts. The session was led by Dr Maciej Grodzicki of Jagiellonian University, who invited participants to reflect on the effectiveness of individual and systemic action. The lecture covered topics including sustainable development, the Sustainable Development Goals, the European Green Deal, energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Participants also discussed what motivates people to take climate action and whether effective transformation requires changes at the level of the entire system. The closing session also featured a ceremony presenting certificates to participants, with a total of 181 people attending the six lectures of the Academy. Feedback collected from participants will provide valuable insight for planning future educational activities focused on climate and environmental protection in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski.
