Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski made a study visit to Sogndal
On 23–26 April 2023 representatives from Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski made a study visit to Sogndal, Norway. The delegation of the Municipality of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski included representatives of the City Hall: Robert Pasternak (Head of the Department of Information Technology), Piotr Jankowski (Deputy Head of the Department of Information Technology), Anna Woś (Head of the Promotion and Public Communication Office), Adrian Murdza (Inspector in the Promotion and Public Communication Office), Agnieszka Wołącewicz (Inspector in the Department of Education and Social Affairs), Beata Barska-Jagiełło (representative of the Regional Branch of the Polish Red Cross in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski), Łukasz Kot (representative of the Center for Local Development) and Katarzyna Cukierska (President of the Space for Social and Cultural Initiatives Association). The delegation included young people, members of the Youth City Council Academy: Aleksandra Kwapisz, Armando Malesza, and Filip Rachwał selected in a contest organized by the City Hall: “Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski — my future”.
The visit was the first of three planned under the “Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski — City ReNEWal” project. The trip was an opportunity for a number of effective meetings with, among others, the authorities and representatives of the Sogndal Municipality, an opportunity to exchange experiences and observe the solutions used in the city of Sogndal in the fields of education, sports culture and business development. Mutual declarations of cooperation and joint development of the course of further visits and new ventures, including the visit of Sogndal representatives to Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, in accordance with bilateral agreement No. 1/2022 dated 31 May 2022, became an important element.
The delegation had the opportunity to visit the campus and the university operating in the Municipality. The sports infrastructure in the town of Sogndal was toured. Campus Sogndal is a great combination of business, sports and education within a single joint campus. During their 2-day stay in Sogndal, they visited several schools and kindergartens, learned about the education system as well as the methods of working with people at risk of social exclusion.
