Social Consultation on the Establishment of a Senior Citizens’ Council

Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski launched public consultations on the establishment of a Senior Citizens’ Council, giving residents an opportunity to help shape a future body representing older people in the city. The consultations focused on gathering opinions, proposals and comments on issues such as the need for the Council, the election process, the length of its term, the number of seats and the scope of its activities. An important part of the process was an open meeting with residents, providing an opportunity to present ideas and comments directly. Residents could also submit their opinions electronically using a form available through the city’s Residents’ Portal. The feedback collected during the consultations was used in preparing the draft resolution establishing the Senior Citizens’ Council. The initiative represents another step towards strengthening public dialogue, encouraging civic engagement and increasing the participation of older residents in the life of the city.
