Detailed information about the “Academy for Young Entrepreneurs”

The Academy for Young Entrepreneurs is aimed at students of public primary schools (grades 5-8) and public high schools located in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. The goal of the activity is to equip students with entrepreneurial knowledge and skills so as to increase their entrepreneurial activity in the future. The Academy will include lectures and workshops, some of which will be led by academics.

Topics for StartUp Faculty (elementary school students):

• The basics of entrepreneurship
• Being entrepreneurial=being a leader
• Smart spending of pocket money, or how to manage money
• Setting and achieving goals
• Creative thinking and action
• Effective communication – understand and be understood
• I – an active citizen
• Interpersonal communication

Total: 24 45-minute lessons

Topics for LevelUp Faculty (high school students):

• Information in business
• Business plan
• Business networking
• Setting up a sole proprietorship
• Building a brand in the modern economy
• Legal forms of business
• Strategy in business
• Promotion and advertising in business

Total: 24 45-minute lessons

As part of the Academy for Young Entrepreneurs, there will be three meetings at each Faculty with business theoreticians and practitioners of a total of 6 45-minute lessons (2 45-minute lessons per meeting per Faculty).

Topics of meetings at the StartUp Faculty:

• Are family pictures safer than a family business?
• Perhaps money doesn't make happiness, but makes it easier to open a business

Topics of meetings at the LevelUp Faculty:

• Opportunities and threats in the local and global markets
• Business destined to innovate
• Socially responsible business

The Academy for Young Entrepreneurs will include study visits to local entrepreneurs and technology/science and technology parks. Each student will take part in one visit to an entrepreneur (within Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) and one field trip visit to a technology park.

Activities organized under the Academy are extracurricular and free of charge. Each Faculty will have 30 students. A total of 60 students will participate in the first edition. Each of them will receive teaching materials, including a student book, where credits from classes will be entered. Students will learn in groups of 10 (3 groups in each Faculty). Each student, in order to graduate from the Academy, will be required to write a graduate thesis. The best graduate theses will be awarded.

Two editions of the Academy for Young Entrepreneurs are planned: for the 2022/2023 academic year and the 2023/2024 academic year. The first edition will begin in December 2022 and end in June 2023, and the second edition will begin in September/October 2023 and end in February/March 2024.
