Nothing about them without them

According to the principle “nothing about them without them”, from the very beginning young people have a great influence on the shape and implementation of the entire project entitled “Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski – City ReNEWal”, starting with the public consultations organized by the Mayor of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski Jarosław Górczyński back in 2019.

Taking into account the involvement of young people in the creation of the project and at the same time caring about their entry into the labor market, I decided to invite volunteers to cooperate in the implementation of the task which is the Academy of the Youth City Council. On the one hand, 5 volunteers who expressed interest in this type of cooperation will have the opportunity to learn project management with me and, on the other hand, they will have an invaluable advisory role in the communication with the target group which is young people. They themselves will no longer have the opportunity to run for the Youth Council due to the fact that they intend to go to university, but they want to have an impact on what is happening in their city.

The meeting of volunteers of the Youth City Council in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski

On the 25th of May 2022 in Zespół Edukacyjno-Przedszkolny “Szkoła z Pasją” (School and Kindergarten Complex “School with Passion”), the first meeting of volunteers of the Youth Council of the City of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski took place. The meeting was organized of PISK Association. The volunteers: Dominika Chmielewska, Natalia Majchrzyk, Weronika Młynek, Eliza Bugajska and Natalia Tworóg exchanged ideas and discussed the work plan for the next months, which will eventually lead to the creation of the Youth City Council. The volunteers were acquainted with the activities planned within the project. The scope of the volunteering agreement and the rules of cooperation between the volunteers and the coordinator were discussed. The meeting will result in the creation of a communication plan that will involve the use of social media to spread this social initiative among young people. The next meeting will be held in mid-June.
